Time to say goodbye to the barbecue

With daylight time savings ending, it was time to give up hope of just one more dinner on the back porch.  The trees have almost all lost their leaves and it was time to prep our yard for winter.
The wind chimes, hummingbird feeder and line-drying rack came inside.  The patio umbrella, table and chairs got put away.
The bird feeders are filled and hung around the house.
The hanging planters from the porch are taken down and stashed in the barn.
We scurried around like industrious little squirrels while the sun set.
But as the dark closes in, I think we’re ready for winter.
Are you ready for the cold?
