Messing with a classic. Grilled cheese gone swirly.

  Grilled cheese is a classic for a reason.  It’s gooey, delicious comfort food.  Throw in a cup of tomato soup and you’ve got a portal back to childhood for just about anybody.

  I’m not slamming traditional grilled cheese.  But how about trying a twist?
Yup.  That’s cinnamon raisin bread.
  Here’s what you need:
Cinnamon raisin bread
Swiss cheese
Pickles (if you’re really brave)
  Remember how way back when I told you that I was going to share some things that sounded weird?  Remember how I said you should try it anyhow?  Yeah, this is one of those times.
  Butter the heck out of your two pieces of bread.  Heat your frying pan to a medium low setting, plop one piece of bread, buttered side down onto the pan and top with a generous pile of cheese.  Place your pickles on top (if you’re gutsy enough to try them) and cover.
  At this point, walk away.  I have ruined many a good grilled cheese because Miss Impatient Pants got bored and cranked the heat.  If you do that, your bread burns and your cheese doesn’t melt.  Check your email or throw in a load of laundry.  You did set the heat low, right?
  Once your cheese has melted, place your second slice of bread (butter side out) on top and flip the whole thing over.  Give it another 5 minutes to toast and call it good.
  Tada!  It’s a new taste sensation!
